Kicking off the special election

Today I filed my official paperwork registering as a candidate for the County Board Supervisor, District 14 special election.

As a reminder, George Gillis served as the County Board Supervisor for District 14 for several years. This past summer, he moved out of district, and so resigned his seat. I decided to apply for the appointment and began gathering the necessary signatures and paperwork. After gathering signatures, having a public hearing, and being voted on by the County Board, I was very pleased to be appointed and confirmed on July 12, 2018.

While the typical election cycle for non-partisan county races is in the Spring of even years, we are having a special election this spring (with the alders and mayoral race) to ensure you have a voice in your representative on the County Board.

I am so honored to have been appointed in July 2018, and I am humbly ask now for your vote on April 2, 2019. I promise to serve with dedication and transparency every day.
